A number of imaginative potters and ceramists are located in this area due to the natural environment attractions and reasonable access to good clay materials. Craft groups and country markets have flourished with public response encouraging the designer to make quality products. Several of the designers have both interest in and facilities for manufacturing regular lines of dinnerware that is unique and functional for up market domestic and specialty restaurant uses.
Janware Distributors has developed working agreement with several well known regional ware suppliers to have their products marketed exclusively to retail stores and restaurants. An office with display rooms will be used by Janware to exhibit ranges of dinnerware lines with personal selling and brochure mailings used to introduce and further market the products.
The agreement with the suppliers includes their providing a full set of a dinnerware line for exhibition use by Janware and guarantees that a design will be maintained for on going support (breakage replacement, additions, etc.) for a minimum of 5 years after first sale of a line. Also, at least a 10% over run of items in a set must be produced for holding by Janware to sell as supplements, replacements or against split set orders.
At present, seven pottery and ceramic producers have agreed to work with Janware as marketing agent for their design and observe the term of commercial supply. In order to supplement the range of unique design available from these and future sources. Two import ranges of general purpose kitchenware will be represented. These lower market products are suitable for cafes and food service industry customers that are accessible as part of the overall trade and May sometime choose to upgrade their ware to the specialty design Janware will be identified with.
